The Philippines celebrates National Women's Month in March to recognize and honor the contributions and achievements of Filipino women, while also raising awareness about gender equality and women's rights. We celebrate Women's Month for the following reasons: To celebrate the incredible success and achievements of strong women all over the globe. To honor and pay tribute to the females who dedicated their lives in ensuring that women were granted equal rights to men.


The Philippine Commission on Women invites advocates of women’s rights to sport purple clothes or accessories every Thursday to show their support and join the call to advance women’s rights and gender equality and end discrimination against women.


Proclamation No. 227 series of 1998 provides for the observance of the month of March as Women’s Role in History month while Republic Act 6949 series of 1990 declares March 8 of every year as International Women’s Day.



March of every year is declared as National Women’s Month.

 Anchored on this year’s theme “We Make Change Work for Women”, the celebration aims to highlight the empowerment of women as active contributors to and claimholders of development. This pursuit of development is also anchored on the commitment of “Malasakit at Pagbabago” or True Compassion and Real Change.

Reflection

  This quarter gives me a lot of knowledge regarding HTML tags, I learned so many things on how we use those tags. I learned how to use the tags and know what is the purpose of these tags. And also the CBR, I learned how to make or conduct a cbr because this lesson gives us knowledge to make our own research. Many challenges I experienced, including a lot of activities I've done and the sleepless nights I experienced. I tend to go to my classmate's house just to finish our CBR and help them to make the research easier. Even though I experienced those challenges, I just think positively to address it and rest a little bit to have a full energy and to continue of what I'm doing. Moving on, I will use these as a source of my strength to continue striving of my studies, It can help me on my next journey. I hope these quarter helps me on my next step.

Violence against women (VAW) appears as one of the country's pervasive social problems. According to the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, 17.5% of Filipino women aged 15-49 have experienced any form of physical, sexual, and emotional violence from their intimate partners. As of 2021, there were 8,399 reported cases ases of physical violence, 1,791 on rape, and 1,505 on acts of lasciviousness. It is alarming that despite addressing the concern, VAW persists. VAW is deemed to be closely linked with the unequal power relation between women and men, otherwise known as "gender-based violence." Societal norms and traditions dictate people think that men are the leaders, pursuers, and providers and take on the dominant roles in society.
