With the theme, "Mga Katutubo at Katutubong Dunong: Pahalagahan, Pangalagaan at Parangalan" or "Valuing, Nurturing, and Honoring Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Knowledge," the month-long festivity underscores key areas that identifies ICCs/IPs, specifically their contributions in agriculture and food security; their culture and customs and traditions woven in their natural environment and ancestral domains; their roles as stewards of our country's land and seas; and their leadership role in nation building.

Part of the activities is a showcase of Indigenous Peoples Cuisine Photo Exhibit, which celebrates the rich cultural heritage and identity of Indigenous Cultural Communities reflected in their distinct food preparation techniques, ingredients, and cooking styles. The photo exhibit will highlight the role of food, not only as sustenance but, as an essential part of cultural identity and tradition, passed down through generations.

The theme for this year's celebration, "Valuing, Nurturing, and Honoring Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Knowledge," highlights the need to recognize, care for, and respect indigenous communities and their age-old wisdom. This event aims to promote and foster a deeper appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of the indigenous peoples. It highlights their unique traditions, knowledge systems, and contributions to society and raises awareness about preserving and valuing indigenous cultures.
